the studio

Camp Cactus started over 20 years ago as the funky little studio of Portland artist Jane Russell.

Located in a converted circa 1910 garage in Portland's leafy-green Grant Park neighborhood,

Camp Cactus Studio has become a favorite place for the community to make art,

take classes and shop for handmade, local goods.

For many years now, we've been gathering groups of local artists together,

and the studio is transformed into a warm and colorful gallery|shop once or twice a year.

It's always a great event and a fun opportunity to shop and rub elbows with real live artists.

the artist

A natural artist since she was knee-high to a grasshopper,

Jane studied art and photography in high school and in college.
Her work as a graphic designer, illustrator, textile designer, photo stylist,

and most recently as an art teacher, has been a source of great joy in her life.
She loves to share the infectious magic of making things by hand at Camp Cactus,

her cozy art studio in Portland, Oregon.
